Well, it had to come to past, it was a year and a half ago that older brother, me, had his 80th birthday. And now in only twelve more days, next sibling, Gim Gee Eng (Lilian) Wong Lee will reach a similar plateau. She will mosey over to California to be with her children, Arlene and Billy, and her three grandchildren, Tara, Jessica, and Lianna. A sumptious Chinese banquet at a restaurant in Monterey Park, will undoubtedly mark the occasion fitfully. Other persons on hand will be older brother, Fook Hem, cousin Victor (Doo Lip) for sure. Sandra and Ed had inconveniently scheduled a boat cruise on the Yangtze River and will be conspicuously absent.

It did come to past and she is now a genuinely qualified full-fledge Octogenerian. The sumptious dinner was consumed last evening at the Mission 261 Chinese Restaurant adjacent to the renown San Gabriel Mission in the city of San Gabriel. In attendance were all her children and grandchildren, except for Jessica who had an earlier audience the night before with grandma to wish her happy birthday. These are some of the photos of the gala gathering.
